Our founder, Carlos Lamas, left his home in Peru and followed his dreams to California when he was in his early 20's. Carlos found the American dream and also found his love for good food. Working in Newport Beach, Carlos met his wife, Katherine and started learning more about the restaurant industry. Carlos saw owning a restaurant as an opportunity to do more than serve delicious food, but also provide a gathering place for the community he loves. Carlos set his sights on Dana Point and evolved what was originally a burger stand into the thriving, authentic, Mexican restaurant that it is today.

Our principle with food is simple: always homemade, never canned. Carlos always believed in the value of a good meal, but family and friends, a good meal, a little wine and a warm and inviting gathering place…perfect!

Over the years, Carlos has let his daughter, Mercedes and her husband Neal take the reins. The couple has worked to maintain Carlos' vision while expanding the menu and offerings. Mercedes and Neal have such profound gratitude for their loyal customers and strive to make every person feel warm and welcome. Come over and make yourself at home!
